many of us will bake in the sun all morning long. heat advisories from the dakotas to minneapolis to green bay. new york and philadelphia also under heat advisories. how hot will it get today? today, mid 90s for the i-95 corridor. we'll see possible triple-digit heat around minneapolis, green bay could get 99 degrees. that is is a very hot air mass, very unusual for these areas to get that hot. st. louis and indianapolis continuing very hot and very dry. and it's a three-day heat wave. i think the tuesday will be the hottest day of it with 100 around st. louis and indianapolis. 99 in d.c. and then probably the last day of the heat wave will be on wednesday, we'll be in the mid to upper 90s from new york city southward and 100 from indianapolis to st. louis. it's not the extreme 105s of the last heat wave, but this one is more humid, so it may be a little more uncomfortable. >> that doesn't sound too good, but thanks, bill. >>> big ben walks up the hill. pump prices fall and exciting new difference this morning on the internet. your "

most of us do have air conditioning. we've been using it and abusing it. we'll start this morning with strong thunderstorms rolling through the northern plains, minneapolis, saginaw, michigan, green bay, and claire, wisconsin all areas dodging thunderstorms this morning and people waking up early in the morning. let's go minneapolis. severe thunderstorm warning on the east side of town. more storms building back behind here too so you're not done quite yet. one strong storm went through. another line still to come. most of these storms are now heading over here to the east. shift over here to interstate 94, there's a thunderstorm warning four. further east, green bay no severe weather for you but you're getting rain and lightning strikes up to the north. another round of storms coming at you in about a half hour and hour. pretty strong storm in central michigan. here's saginaw, michigan. these are drifting over saginaw and flint over interstate 75, hairy drive about an hour from now. keep that in mind some of the travel trouble spots as you start your morn

the jet stream is needed to dip to the south to give us the cooler air. the jet treem has been way up in canada for the last two weeks. when that moves south, the cooler air moves south with it. right now the only ones getting the cooler air, areas of new england. especially northern new england. you haven't heard much of 100-degree heat there because they've been a little cooler. of course, the high pressure sits over top of st. louis. you're see nine straight days today of 100-degree-plus heat. how hot will it be? already starting this morning, this is pretty amazing. the heat index is 92 in chicago. it is 91 in st. louis. you're starting that high. you have a chance of seeing incredible heat this afternoon, maybe close to all-time record highs. it even feels like 87 in d.c. pretty gross when you step outside. that's cranking your ac before the sunt is even up. heat warnings in place from d moines to chicago, indianapolis, chicago, pretty much all the same locations as we did yesterday. this is how hot it will get today. 107 in st. louis. 105 in indiana
